Vegan Classic Veggie Burger Recipe

Ingredients:
2 cups cooked black beans, drained and rinsed
1 cup breadcrumbs (ensure they are vegan)
1 cup finely chopped mushrooms
1/2 cup finely diced onions
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon paprika
1 tablespoon soy sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tablespoons olive oil
Vegan burger buns
Toppings of your choice (lettuce, tomato, onion, vegan mayo, etc.)
Instructions:
In a large mixing bowl, mash the black beans with a fork or potato masher until mostly smooth.
In a skillet, sauté the chopped mushrooms, onions, and garlic in olive oil over medium heat until softened. Allow them to cool slightly.
Add the sautéed vegetables to the mashed black beans. Add breadcrumbs, cumin, paprika, soy sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix everything thoroughly until well combined.
Form the mixture into patties of your desired size. If the mixture is too wet, add more breadcrumbs.
Heat a skillet or grill over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.
Toast the vegan burger buns on the skillet for a minute or until they're warm and slightly crispy.
Assemble the burgers by placing the patties on the buns and adding your favorite toppings.
Non-Vegan Alternative:
For a non-vegan version, you can incorporate an egg as a binding agent instead of breadcrumbs. Include one beaten egg in the mixture. Additionally, you can use regular mayo instead of vegan mayo for the sauce.
